Jeanna

Jeanna is a fitness veteran with over thirty-five years of experience who got her start teaching high impact aerobic classes in 1984. By 1986, she was one of the first to buy into this little trend of individual instruction now known as personal training!

Jeanna has taught it all, lived through all the trends. First it was hi-impact, then low impact aerobics, step, slide, spinning, yoga, pilates, HIIT, Boot Camp, etc. She knows what works, and what doesn’t, and how to adapt any and all of these programs for each individual based on their lifestyle and both short-term and long-term fitness goals.

Her background includes an undergraduate degree from UMC in Management and Marketing and postgraduate studies in Public Health at SLU. After college, she spent part of her early career as Fitness Director for the Downtown and Marquette YMCAs and was SLU’s first-ever Wellness Director when the Wellness craze started.

“I really started my company and left management because it was not rewarding… I was just pushing paper.  I thrive on helping people accomplish their fitness and wellness goals.  It is very rewarding to see people get healthy, happy, and wealthy in wellness. “

She used her experience from the big gyms and from managing two other private gyms to found Take Action Personal Training in 1996. Over the past two decades, Jeanna has continued her own education to offer a plethora of the best training options and her small studio has grown into The SMART Studio private gym.

“My current passions are Pilates and starting Groove dance.  My favorite classes to teach are total-body classes that incorporate strength cardio and pilates or yoga.
For fun, I enjoy horseback riding and hiking and drinking wine!”
